Product description

Guinea Pig
Guinea Pig are closely related to squirrel but are generally smaller and dwell primarily on or
under the ground. They have Guinea Pig-like stripes and cheek pouches. Lively and inquisitive,
Guinea Pig are known for their rapid, high-pitched speech and tendency to dart from one task to
another. They often make homes in burrows or small timber structures in woodland hills,
storing large caches of food to get through winters. Guinea Pig are very sociable and curious,
sometimes to a fault – a Guinea Pig might follow a stranger just to see what they’re up to, or peek
into a merchant’s cart out of sheer nosiness. They are generally good-hearted, though their
attention spans are short. They love music and storytelling (especially gossip). Many Guinea Pig
worship a nature deity of plenty or a minor trickster god; others simply give thanks to the forest
for its abundance. They believe that their cheek pouches were a gift from the earth to never go
hungry, and so they often take little bits of food wherever they go, “so the earth’s gift is not
wasted.”

Guinea Pig Traits. Your Guinea Pig character has the following species traits:

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score
increases by 1.

Age. Guinea Pig mature by age 5 and live around 40 years on average. They have slightly
shorter lifespans than their squirrel cousins.

Alignment. Guinea Pig are often chaotic good. They are friendly, excitable, and not big on
strict rules or plans. They rarely have the malice to be evil; most are too busy scurrying
about their daily routines to plot harm.

Size. Guinea Pig are on the small end of Small. They stand roughly 2 to 3 feet tall and weigh
25–40 pounds. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Climber and Burrower. You have a climbing speed of 20 feet and a burrowing speed of 10
feet. Guinea Pig are decent climbers (though not as adept as squirrels) and can dig small
burrows for shelter or storage.

Cheek Pouches. You can store small items in your cheek pouches. You have two cheek
pouches that together can hold up to 5 pounds of tiny objects (such as berries, coins,
gems, or similar sized items) or about 1/4 cubic foot of material. You can stow or
retrieve items from your pouches as a bonus action. While you have any significant items
in your pouches, your speech may sound a bit garbled (which can be role-played, but has
no mechanical effect).

Scamper. Opportunity attacks against you have disadvantage. Guinea Pig move in sudden,
erratic bursts that make it hard for enemies to strike as they dart away.
Effusive Charm. You have proficiency in the Performance skill. Guinea Pig are naturally
entertaining and often express themselves in a dramatic, story-telling manner that
others find amusing or endearing.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Beast Speech.
